Ten Nations compete in two groups with five teams, to reach the semifinals. The top two teams in each group at the end of the group stage will play in the semifinals. The final will be held on 26th February 2023 at Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town. The tournament has been postponed from its original slot in November 2022 to February 2023 by the International Cricket Council (ICC) due to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The ten competing nations are divided in two groups. Each team has to play against every other team in their group. The World Cup will be opened with the match between the host South Africa and Sri Lanka on February 10th. So when every nation has played four games, the best twi teams of each group will proceed to the semi-finals, on February 23rd and 24th.
